The NTRTA is the peak industry association representing the interests of the Road Transport Industry throughout the Northern Territory. The NTRTA was founded within a few months of the Northern Territory achieving Self-Government in 1978 with its inaugural President, Jim Cooper, a passionate and tireless representative and now a life member.
The primary objectives of the NTRTA are to ensure the road transport industry remains safe, viable and professional now and into the future by maintaining our critical productivity initiatives and increasing the skills of the workforce whilst lobbying for essential roads infrastructure and all weather access on the national highway network.
The NTRTA has gained recognition throughout Australia as one of the most progressive bodies representing the diverse needs of the road transport industry. The Association operates under the guidance of an elected Executive Committee who in turn rely on feedback and information from the general membership. The Association’s membership represents all sectors of the Northern Territory transport industry including large and medium sized companies, suppliers and affiliated businesses as well as owner operators.
